My formative years were spent as an officer in the Royal Marines. The ethos of courage, selflessness, determination and cheerfulness in adversity have shaped who I am. The values of integrity, honesty, professionalism and understated excellence have shaped what I believe in.
Upon leaving the Royal Marines it was of paramount importance to me to take up a career in which I could continue to apply and uphold the same ethos and values. I was also determined to continue to ‘make a difference’ and to help others by adding value, in some form, to their lives. This search led me, quite naturally, to a career as a Financial Planner as I realised how little time my own circle of friends, family and colleagues had to give real thought to their personal finance, and how both they and their families were missing out in a multitude of ways as a consequence. It was therefore apparent to me that I could bring improvements to their finances, lightening the load, thereby reducing both uncertainty and anxiety. When looking at who to provide that support through, my search for an organisation with the ethos and values I recognised from the Royal Marines led me to St. James’s Place.
I am confident that I can continue to adhere to the values I believe in to support and enrich the lives of others. I am also certain that as you, my valued client, learn about my service commitment, combined with the distinctive services provided by St. James’s Place, you will also recognise the value we place on holding your needs above all; on making sure you receive the best, ongoing advice and service possible to support the attainment of your aspirations; and in forming a trusted, warm, open and long-lasting relationship.
